Gasunie

Gasunie connects producers, suppliers and consumers through the infrastructure behind the energy system. An environment in which reliable information exchange is just as important as the physical connections.

The history of Gasunie begins in 1963. The Dutch Gasunie was then responsible for the sale, delivery and transport of natural gas. With the construction of the national network, natural gas gained a central place in Dutch energy supply.

In 2005, trading and transport were separated. GasTerra continued with sales and delivery; the current Gasunie focused on infrastructure and transport. The network is part of a larger European energy system, in which connections between countries play an important role in a stable energy supply.

That role became visible again with the development of EemsEnergyTerminal in 2022. The LNG terminal in Eemshaven was realised in a short time to enable additional gas imports and reduce dependence on Russian natural gas.

I worked for Gasunie in various periods. My assignments ranged from BizTalk integration consultancy to the integrations for EemsEnergyTerminal and the further development of a hybrid integration landscape with Azure, API Management and the Cloud Adoption Framework.
