Brabant Water
Behind clean drinking water lies an extensive network of sources, production sites and pipelines. Brabant Water combines this physical infrastructure with the information needed to connect customers, processes and work activities.
Brabant Water has existed since 2002 and was created from the merger of Waterleiding Maatschappij Noord-West-Brabant and Waterleidingmaatschappij Oost-Brabant. The company thereby builds on a longer history of regional drinking water supply.
The core task is producing and distributing clean, reliable drinking water for residents and businesses in Brabant and a small part of Zeeland. This requires not only sources and water production facilities, but also a coherent infrastructure for transport and delivery.
The availability and quality of drinking water require ongoing attention. Climate change, population growth and economic developments place new demands on the supply. Brabant Water therefore works on renewing infrastructure, water conservation, innovation and protecting the environment.
For Brabant Water, I worked on system integration across multiple engagements. The focus was on standardizing the integration platform, development and deployment practices, and connecting to the DSP platform around mijnaansluiting.nl. Geographic information, using ArcGIS and FME, was also part of my work.
