A standardized and manageable integration platform
Standardization of integration development, testing, and deployments, with attention to operations and knowledge transfer.
The client question
Brabant Water needed a consistent setup of the integration platform and a repeatable way to develop, test, deploy, and manage interfaces.
My role
Integration architect and consultant
My approach & contribution
I established integration patterns and built a Visual Studio development template. I worked on regression tests with BizUnit, the setup of Build Server and TFS, and the BizTalk Deployment Framework. A custom deployment extension enabled centralized management of settings. I also implemented exception handling and message resubmission, delivered a first integration with WaterStoring.nl, and provided training for operations and internal development. ArcGIS and FME were part of the integration environment.
The result
Reusable development templates, agreed integration patterns, centralized deployment settings, and implemented error handling. The working method was transferred to internal staff.
