Vattenfall
An energy company with a long European history, where digital self-service requires secure APIs and reliable customer communication.
Vattenfall's origins lie in the development of Swedish hydropower. The company played a role in the electrification of households and industry and later expanded its activities to other forms of energy generation and other European countries.
The Dutch history runs largely through Nuon, which was formed in 1994 from regional energy companies. Vattenfall acquired Nuon in 2009. In 2018, it was announced that the Nuon name would make way for Vattenfall, so the company would also operate externally under a single name.
My assignments at Vattenfall were at the intersection of cloud integration, security and customer processes: securing and standardizing self-service APIs and improving the architecture for transactional email.
